Time Together: Gender, Power and the Construction of Intimacy in Marriage
Time and intimacy are fundamental to the construction of intimacy. In other words people who spend time together tend to get closer over time. However, current research is showing that even though couples are aware of this there are many who find it impossible to do so. The pressure for time is an ever present reality. This seminar draws on the most current research that examines how busy couples successfully create deeper intimacy even with the constraints of limited time together. In addition, men and women think about and experience time differently. Research shows that the most successful couples are able to negotiate these differences and experience deep intimacy. I have published some of this research myself and enjoy sharing these enlightening and useful insights.
